No , it's an optical effect. Each of the paintings or lithographs are stored in a plastic sleeve to protect the composition and kept in a cooled environment 24x7 to preserve the art works integrity. The tap is actually on the plastic, it is there because when stored the painting or lithograph is maintained between two hardened pieces of cardboard to preserve a straight line flat image. We assure you there is no tape on the actual product.
To be clear most artists would strongly prefer to make 1 canvas design sell it for 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars and move to the next creation from their soul. However many of them also like to eat at the same time they preserve the integrity of their creation. Many now use Gicle pronounced (zhee-clays) in the plural to continue selling their work beyond the original. This an ultra-high resolution scanning method that preserves the original coloration, composition, and format of an original canvas print. Any artwork reproduction is technically a "print" whether it looks like the original or not, Giclee process quite literally ensures that your print looks exactly like the real thing. If you are an art buff you can read more about the process here: https://www.artworkarchive.com/blog/everything-you-need-to-know-about-giclee-prints
It's in the product description if the COA is included. General rule of thumb if its a film cell, lithograph, Giclee, or certainly an artist original canvas it's got a COA with it. The more economical mass reproduction items priced under $30 usually do not - however check the listing to be sure.
Edition Size indicates the total run of that lithograph if it is a limited edition item, IE the number of copies that were created before the design plate was destroyed.
