Hasbro's long awaited nostalgia line of Ghostbuster 1984 (the original movie) line of Action Figures is here at Keenga Toys.  The Plasma series presents the best of the original battle with the super natural with the 4 original GhostBusters tag teaming up against Gozer the Gozerian to Save New York City. 

These figures bring on some great facial details (see below in grey scale montage) 

Winston Zeddemore is easily the most "posed" for action.  With a great proton pack streamer blast Winston is ready to do battle with more than just the cute and "funny" slimmer ..who let's face it was just downright disgusting in the original flick. 

Best Winston Zeddemore Line from the original:  "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES"!"

Egon Spangler played by the Legendary Stripes veteran Harold Ramis is the brains of the operation.  You really have to appreciate just how great his acting skills are given the number of "nerdy quotes" the actor deadpans in hilarious routine. In addition to his likeness the action figure has the large oversized glasses to depict just how he was supposed to look.  

Best Egon Spangler Line: Do you have a hobby? "I collect Spores, Moldes, and Fungus." That's what I mean about Ramis ....that line on its own dead weight for Harold Ramis it somehow makes you chuckle.

Ray Stantz was played by Dan Aykroyd who not only starred in Ghostbusters but actually conceived of it.  His action figure portrays Ray's nerdy nature perfectly mingled with the comedy genius of arguably the best comedic actor of his generation. Ray's head comes adorned with accessory goggles. 

Best Ray Stantz Line: Ok not so much a line but you have to Love Ray's explanation of trying to imagine "harmless"

Peter Venkman.  Bill Murray steals the show from 3 other great comedians.  This is a great movie without Vankman it is LEGENDARY with him in it and why its still great during this its 35 year anniversary. There are so many great lines for Bill Murray here that I found it almost impossible to boil down to just 1 and while I really try to keep the blog G rated to the maximum , forgive the PG rated one below.

Peter Venkman Best Line: "Yes Your honor , this man has no dick!"

Rounding out the crew is Dana Barrett in a flowing red dress as she appeared standing on the roof top at the movie's climax.  It's a good figure and rounds it out but Sigourney Weaver .....yeah it could be a little better.  A good action figure not a great one though they did a great job capturing the demonic look she had at the end. The series "wraps up" with the single villain depicted in this line of action figures Gozer the Gozarian who appears at the very end to invoke Mr. Stay Puft to slime all of Manhattan. 

If you collect all 6 they do assemble for a bonus Build-A-Figure of the Terror Dog (both Dana Barrett and Louis Tully get transformed into them).
