Star Wars The Black Series

New packaging for Star Wars the Black Series is scheduled for August 2020. The improved packaging makes this a more "collector worthy" type of Action Figure with enhanced box art, a better window display and a slightly narrower package display for stacking. There first 2 releases are 1 wave and 1 special collection.

• The first official wave is a montage of great Star Wars hits and includes: Darth Vader (Empire Strikes Back) , Luke Skywalker (Snowspeeder - also ESB) , Teebo (Ewok) and Admiral Ackbar from Return of the Jedi, Kamino Clone Trooper (Attack of the Clones) , Mandalorian in Beskar Armor (from The Mandalorian) and an Imperial Stormtrooper.
• Dave Feloni's CGI masterpiece Star Wars Rebels also gets into the action, here we have the entire release line which is not sold in wave format but rather individual solid casing so arrival dates may vary. The "gang" is all here though with Rebel Jedi Ezra Bridger and Kannan Jarrus; Chopper and Hera Syndullah, along with Sabine Wren and Ashoka Tano. There is also a Deluxe release Zeb Orrelios.

Almost all Star Wars The Black Series is done at 6-Inch Scale. There is a Walmart "exclusive" that is also available for fan channel distribution that was done at 3.75 Inch scale.

Yes, the recommended age is 4 and up. While these figures are heavily collected by adult fans, they are primarily designed for children. The articulation (workable joints in an action figure) on this line is exceptional they have over 20 points on each figure and include accessories appropriate to the character as seen on TV. Which figures they want depends on how they consume Star Wars.

Your child (ages 4-12) like the new movies: The popular characters here are Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, and the older version of Princess Leia.

Your child (ages 6-15) watches Disney+ content: If they are watching the CGI version on Disney+ streaming content we strongly recommend considering the Star Wars Rebels characters who are arch-typed to appeal to a younger audience : Ezra Bridger is young padawan (Jedi in training) hero in this series ; kids of this series are also drawn to Hera, Zeb, and Chopper. Boys of a certain age also have a strong interest in Sabine Wren or Ashoka Tano. If you want to join in the fun yourself we recommend Kannan Jarrus who has all the fun of not only training a young Jedi, but standing in as a step father to the orphaned sometimes very stubborn teenager Ezra Bridger. There is a great scene where young Ezra watches Kannan use the Jedi mind trick on a storm trooper and out-loud wishes "I wish that would work for me" to which Kannan replies "Sometimes, I wish that worked on you". If you have raised a teenager you can probably relate.

Your child likes the Mandalorian. The Child aka Baby Yoda appeals to everyone across a broad age spectrum you can't go wrong here with this choice. The title character The Mandalorian also has universal appeal. Cara Dune is a great female co-lead in this series with appeal as a former Rebel Dropper (sort of the 101st Airborne Band of Brothers meets the Stars Wars Universe) and originally from Alderran. Moff Gideon is the central "bad guy" in this series. The robot IG-11 is an instant cult hit and highly sought after.
